YOU WILL NEED:
Paper Bags
Stencils
Utility Knife
Cardboard
Glue Stick
Candles in Glasses
Lighter |
DIRECTIONS: You need to same-sized bags for each lantern. 1. Using Stencils, outline letters, phrases, or designs on one bag; cut out with utility knife. Insert a piece of cardboard in between the two sides of the bad to avoid cutting through both of them. Do not discard center cutouts from letters with closed shapes, such as A or O.
2. Fold top edge of second bag over twice. Trim top of stenciled bag so that it is slightly shorter than the bag with folded edge. Run a glue stick around the edges of letters on inside of the bad. Place folded bag inside cutout bag, tucking the stenciled bag under the folded edge of its companion. Press bags together; reposition any saved center cutouts, and glue to inside bag. To illuminate, hold a candle in its glass, half-way down into bag. Light with a lighter, and lower carefully. Also make sure it's the correct side of the bag.
Caution: Frequently check on bags, exercise fire safety. © Martha Stewart Halloween (the best of Martha Stewart Living) |
